This was an amazing read and I do hope you read this book and make your own conclusions. And I obviously do not know the direction the rest of the series will progress so do take my opinions with a grain of salt. For me, that would have made their story come full circle. Maybe that was intentional? I would have liked some flashbacks or a deeper explanation to fill some of those holes but that could be remedied in the rest of the series. It can all have many different interpretations depending on the reader. He seems like a bad guy, I know he made women cry but I got nothing concrete to corroborate that with. Without giving spoilers, a few things were a bit vague, like “he hurt me.” If I knew specific details it would be easier to sympathize with characters and hate the villain. For me, I think the story would have had a bigger impact if I knew a few more details. The only things that were missing for me, were more details on the backstory. I’m starting to think authors are sadists who enjoy making me fall in love with their characters and stories only to rip them away. Why is this a standalone? □ I get this is the start to a bigger universe but….my heart. What I cannot accept is that that’s it for these characters. This is one of the books that was hard for me to review. The characters are likable and the FMC is one to be proud of. It’s a short read but surprisingly immersive. Ever feel like a book took you to Narnia? That’s what Dawn to Dusk did for me.
